This is the first training collar I have ever bought. I did a lot of research before buying. I am very happy with it. I have a 16 pound dachshund and was concerned the collar size would be too bulky on her. No, that is not so. The beep and vibrate modes work well with my dog. I've only used the shock once and to be honest I'm scared of using it again. My dog squeaked and cried after being electrocuted on level 14. I've tried Shock up to level 10 on myself with the intention of using it at that level. When he started punching my son, I frantically grabbed the remote and zapped him without realizing it was at 14. So for stubborn dogs that don't respond either I think this would be a good buy. As for my pup, I will mainly continue to use the beep and vibration.
