Our family LOVES these glasses. We use them for kids to bring water to school, cocktails, iced coffee, travel etc. They keep ice tight and drinks cold for a long time. If they're in good condition (see below), with a straw in a side pocket, I'll even entrust them with a computer bag. So, they are very common in our economy. We especially like that they are dishwasher safe. Unlike many sealed travel containers, you can actually clean them, especially if you prop the lid up with something in the dishwasher. The only reason we didn't give them 5 stars is because we found that they don't last forever with daily use and frequent dishwashing. Most of us failed within a year when the plastic of the seal became brittle and broke. We lost one by putting it in the bottom rack of the dishwasher and the heat caused the plastic to warp. We lost one because the plastic cracked around the rim. If you have a child who likes to chew on straws, we have found that chewing on straws can destroy them. But given the price, we got more out of them than we got our money's worth before they failed. I think we could keep them in good condition for a lot longer without the dishwasher and our habit of keeping the shutter open, but we really like being able to clean them. We still plan to buy them again. We would be happy to purchase replacement caps for our existing bases that are still in good condition.
