I've used it twice already! They were originally purchased for a backdrop in my daughter's wedding room. Background pictured is 8ft by 8ft and one strand took care of the entire board with two light strands at the end or one line which I didn't unravel. Lots of glitter. The remote control is just a button on the plug to switch between different modes. When you click, it's hard to tell what mode you're in. You just have to be patient and wait a minute to see if you want to stay in this mode. A week later my other daughter had a trunk or treat event. I also redesigned the lighting and some of the wedding decorations. The kids loved it! They roll up easily when they need to be removed or moved. When I put them away this time I will roll one strand at a time and seal each strand in a ziplock bag for storage. I would buy them again! It served my purpose well. If you use them a lot, you may need a remote that's more specific to the mode you want to use.
