I have used at least 6 different models of electronic thermometers. It was one of those models - I bought two of them. They worked well - very comparable to others in accuracy and button function. However, they do have one weakness (or disadvantage?) that I'll address. I broke both models while washing them by hand. By simply pulling a wet, soapy cloth from the base to the tip of the stainless steel, the steel was separated from the plastic. When that happens, it's garbage. I had many models and this problem is not typical for me. And maybe, if people don't wash like that, they will live with this model for many years. Just sharing my experience - hope it helps. I will not buy this model again.
