Review on Enhance Performance with Airaid Cold Air Intake System for 2012-2018 JEEP (Wrangler JK, Wrangler) by Gregory Flynt

Well designed but snug fitting and may not fit other mods

Good upgrade for my 2013 3.6. Combined with the Borla Cat back, it really opens up the top and allows this pentastar to breathe like it should. My stock Rubicon Rubicon with a manual transmission seems pretty fast for a Jeep. A few days ago 35 inch tires were added and they still have a lot of power. The only criticism is that they have to include a new tube instead of the standard tube. Update: This shot is very tight even if everything else is completely stock. The jeep now has a fan and the generator has been relocated slightly. This intake did not match the Edelbrock compressor at all. It had to be removed and the normal air intake reinstalled. I tried installing this air intake with a Mishimoto heatsink and it didn't fit either (with or without a fan). This air intake also leaves you in a short tube. Despite the fact that the instructions say to cut off the end, this is still a limitation. I ended up just using the stock high-flow filter in a standard housing and omitting the small pipe entirely. The same standard air filter is also found in Hemi cars, so the standard filter is probably fine. Between using a high-flow filter element and removing your standard pipe, or maybe even cutting the hole a little larger, you'll likely get about the same increase in throttle response and power at the top end of your rpm range.

Pros
  • HIGH PERFORMANCE REUSABLE FILTER: Each AIRAID intake system is matched with a washable reusable air filter that traps contaminants and provides quality engine protection
Cons
  • Quality
