Review on ZOTAC Gaming GeForce RTX 3080 Ti AMP Holo 12GB GDDR6X 384-bit 19 Gbps PCIE 4.0 Gaming Graphics Card HoloBlack by Cameron Rosa

I got a sample that overheated and was cheaply built!

I bought this amp holo card after getting the XFX RX 6900 XT Merc 319 Limited Black for my other system. I've read good reviews about it on reputable old-school PC sites online. That's faster than Radeon, which is a beast in its own right with its XTXH chip. Both in benchmarks and gaming at 4K, even with the benefit of AMD Smart Access Memory combined with my Ryzen 3900X and enabled in the BIOS and drivers, Amp Holo pulls back. Unfortunately I had to send it back to Revain as right out of the box it was idling at 60-65 degrees which is not normal at all. The stock fan curve is too soft. They start accelerating when the map is already insanely hot. As a result, she worked at full force at 75-80 degrees. It's right on the limit before it starts to throttle. Obviously someone did something wrong with the factory assembly of the thermal pads. It heats up my room like a sauna and smells very hot. It should run cooler with those three fans. They also howl like an airliner. A card that runs that fast will have an early death. Is it worth more than $1,800 with taxes? Given the current crazy GPU market in terms of performance, YES. It runs games in 4K60 like nothing. It overclocks to 1980MHz by default with just a driver and no other application. In terms of build quality? No way. It's so cheaply built. So plastic and fragile. The RGB lighting also looks cheap. Very low resolution. Even my four year old EVGA GTX 1080 SC looks and feels twice the price of an Amp Holo. In general, I lost faith in Zotac after the first acquaintance with their product. Luckily, I found the Aorus RTX 3080 Ti XTREME 12G on an online site that has an egg in the title. It's the top card in the lineup, it's faster, but its MSRP was $150 cheaper at $1,649.99. Not only does it look better and offer better performance and more features, but it also runs at 40 seconds and heats up to 65 to 75 degrees during benchmarks and gaming. .This is because my computer room was always a tropical temperature of 80-95 degrees Fahrenheit during the day. My guess is that my amp holo card was built in a hurry. I understand the time and the market but at a suggested retail price of $1799.99 it is unacceptable to release a product that does not perform as it should and that has such poor quality materials, fit and finish having. I buy things to keep. I study them carefully and decide I'm willing to pay the price. This is a solid decision. I don't like wasting time on returns because of a manufacturing defect. I'm glad others had a better experience than me.
