I've decided to buy a new JIGA webcam to compare to the one I bought a few months ago. One of my few complaints about the old one was the intense brightness of the ring light, and it seems like someone should have been listening. This camera turns on the ring light at around 50% brightness, and even at 100% it feels more comfortable and less bright. Picture quality appears to be on par with the old model, maybe a little better, and plug and play was easy to get up and running. on Windows as well as the interfaces of Twitch Studio and OBS. The only thing I had a little trouble with was enabling the ring light modes. On the old model, one touch of the light "button" turned on the light, another touch toggled the lighting modes from white to warm, and you swiped your finger around the ring to adjust the brightness. On the newer model, you can still touch the ring around the lens to turn the light on or off, but to toggle the mode from White to Warm or New Natural Light you have to touch and hold the ring for a few seconds. That's not bad, and I can see how it reduces the frustration of switching lighting modes when you're just trying to adjust the brightness, but once you got used to a different style of control it was a bit of a mental adjustment. It's a pretty minor issue, especially for a fairly cheap device, and I really like the natural light mode - I think it's a good middle ground between pure white and warm tones, which I like for both the lighting and the I like the picture quality. Overall happy with my purchase and looking forward to playing with this over n more threads for close ups and different lighting settings.
