The one I received is solid dark espresso, with no weathering look at all, but I still love the look. It is a sturdy, beautiful piece. My husband and I put it together with only one problem, which we were able to solve. You must remember not to tighten all the screws until the legs and shelf are in place. At first we thought that the shelf was too short on one side, but after we loosened and re-tightened everything, all the corners were at right angles. It is a great piece, and I'm so glad I got it.
