We were looking for an unobtrusive, intermittent amber flashing light for when my husband is plowing our driveway. Compared with the old traditional "rotating dome" light, it is not so bright, but enough. Here are a few things to think about more: Although the magnets are strong, they won't go through the ice on the roof unless you put them in place before a thunderstorm. Due to this problem, when mooring before a thunderstorm, the cable goes through the open window. There is no way to disconnect the cable. Because of these two issues, I'm only giving it 4 stars for suction and 4 stars for brightness compared to 'old school'. If you are looking for a cheap flashlight and you don't mind opening your window before a thunderstorm, then this flashlight is for you. We don't use it for anything other than plowing the end of our driveway. If you're looking for something for commercial use, you might need a brighter light. Another thing to consider: if more than a few inches of snow falls during a storm, the lights will turn off. We live on the Maine coast and have not had an overnight "down" storm since 12/2019 and luckily we can park in the garage if that is the case.
