I'll try to be brief and concise. The product was exactly as advertised. I was able to connect a "Sprint" 3G/4G USB modem to this router and use it immediately. I followed the instructions and ran the updates as suggested, which only took a few minutes. I think the only issue I had trouble with during a software update was that there was no update complete message. It only takes a few minutes. Anyway, I left it for a while and came back to it. When the update status didn't change, I turned it off, turned it back on, plugged the USB tethering back in, and checked for updates again. He said he was up to date. FYI - sometimes it takes about 3-5 minutes for the wireless signal to be operational. Don't be impatient. most likely your modem is causing a problem finding a decent signal. I've found that it also takes some time when my card is looking for a 4G signal connecting directly to my computer. Just wanted to point that out. What really got me interested now - is it possible to connect it to a rechargeable battery source? Yes you can! As a reviewer previously wrote, this "StarTech.com USB2TYPEM 3 Foot USB Type M Barrel 5V DC Power Cable works". I'm no expert on polarity and such, but I've tried it and it works. That's really all that matters to me. I used the modem with this setup almost every day for a month and had no problems. I have actually used this modem with a battery in a car (as a passenger) with no loss of signal. There are cheaper cables and some accessories that have rechargeable batteries, but none of them will work with this modem. The cable I connected does it. Yes, I wish it had an internal power supply to make it "really" portable. The older model apparently had it, but I noticed from the review that this model's hardware/software is much more stable. 4 out of 5 points for ease of use, quality, signal strength and price. Minus 1 star for "real" mobility without its own mobile power supply. If you have any questions, just let me know - I'll try to answer as soon as possible. External Lithium Ion Battery and Charger for HTC: Sensation XL, Radar, Sprint EVO 4G, At&t Inspire 4G, Vivid 4G, Incredible 2, Rezound, Samsung: Galaxy S II S2 i9100, T-Mobile T989, Sprint Epic 4G touch, Galaxy Nexus Prime, Gala.", but you still need the cable mentioned above.
