I originally bought a cheaper device and liked the look, but it died after a week. Only 3 speeds and high speeds were too slow for my patio needs. The remote control was weak and the fan wouldn't work without it. Returned. Of course it was a cheaper block than this one. After a long search I decided on this fan. Couldn't be happier with it. 10-speed and very quiet even at high speeds. Especially the installation was so easy compared to others. The remote control is much more reliable and if it ever breaks you have other options for connecting the fan and lightbulbs than the description says. If I had any suggestions it would be to add more color options to the LED lighting but for now this is a good set of lights. You get what you pay for and it was well worth the extra money.
