I've tried turning eco mode on and off and none of them sound good. In Eco mode, the coil whistles very loudly, the activated fan makes an unpleasant noise and works constantly without Eco mode. Basically, you can't win. You might not notice the noise if you're gaming with headphones or if you have other noisy fans in your system, but I'm replacing that crappy power supply with Be Quiet! energy source. Why spend a lot of money to end up with an unpleasant experience? I didn't expect Great Wall quality from EVGA.
