CO detected by our oven

After being woken and alerted to a CO level in excess of 900ppm we immediately turned off our wall oven, opened the windows and the ppm went back to 0 came out and she found we had a "bad flame" giving off CO when the wall oven was turned on. The gas company's handheld meter read 200ppm so I don't know how accurate the numbers are but I'm sure this product will work and detect carbon monoxide.
