Review on 🐠 NICREW ClassicLED Gen 2 Aquarium Light: Dimmable LED Fish Tank Light with 2-Channel Control, High Output (18-24 Inch, 15 Watts) by Roberto Cohen

Great light - Awesome, super bright - Purchased August - Blue bulbs failed 13 Sep.

Update: Well the good news is the white bulbs are still working in this system so mine plants will survive and this is a big part of this lighting system. The bad news is that the blue lights have failed and now won't turn on at all. I don't know why but they just won't turn on which is frustrating! I haven't had them for so long [two months] so it's really disappointing. I think multi color systems work better but I wanted brighter light so I added that. I hope it's just the ballast they sent me. In any case, this is too short a lifespan. I use it with two other Nicrew LED bulbs. I have planted pools with flowers. I added this one to brighten up the tank a bit and it really made all the colors pop. I recommend using a mix of their lights. The ones with blue-red and white for plants work great, but I need some blue. This light has two channels and you can choose the brightness of blue or white light. I put on the maximum and put in the middle. I added those that looked more like 6700s on opposite sides to add some red lighting. I have a 120 gallon aquarium and the plants love this mix. I also get a subtle flicker effect with this combination. If you like planted aquariums, use this and one of their NICREW ClassicLED Plus Planted Aquarium Light, Full Spectrum to achieve this effect. As other posters have pointed out, this is REALLY bright. However, it lacks reds, so I think you need to create a combination. I planted two and this one. FYI - the dimmers they sell work on both channels [these are Dial for Classic] but I don't see the point if you can just dial it down by pressing the buttons. Oh, the mode button is a switch. I noticed that this one has some kind of spring to put it on the tank. I would recommend doing this over a glass plate. It's VERY close to the top. I would say it's a bit shorter than the Nicrew Classic LED light. The value for money is amazing. Very low amount of heat. I asked my mum to look at the plants under this light and she said my burgundy finally looked beautiful as the light brought out her [classic] colors and the blue from it brought out the blue of my fish.
