As a beginner knitter I LOVE this book! Everyone advises us to start with scarves, but knitting quickly becomes boring. The ideas in this book are creative riffs that are simple enough for beginners but powerful enough to have fun knitting. And the pattern/yarn choices are getting more and more complex to keep things interesting. In addition, the author offers some really helpful tips that more experienced knitters will probably take for granted but really need (e.g. on which sides to knit).
