I bought this filter and funnel after struggling to filter peanut butter through a cloth last time. I finally got a chance to use it last night after frying fish. Works perfectly! I only use my electric fryer a month or two a month and don't keep oil in it between uses. Of course, I also don't want to throw away most of the nearly gallon of oil it takes to fill a deep fryer. So I put the oil back in the jar, but first I have to filter out the batter crumbs and such. I used to use some kind of cloth to filter the oil. While it worked, it took FOREVER and I ended up with a huge mess. Last night I placed this filtered funnel on top of my pitcher and poured the entire container through it in one continuous stream. When all the oil went in the bottom of the strainer was quite clogged with solids so it took a few extra minutes for the remaining oil to seep through the bottom (as shown in the picture). This unit has reduced my fry cleaning time from over 30 minutes to about 5 minutes. Very happy with my purchase!
