I have dry, fine and curly hair, with a lot of volume and body. So, I was worried about switching to a bar shampoo because I don't want any weight or "film" to dull or age my hair. I was also worried about drying it out and making it brittle or frizzier.But, as it turns out, it's quite the opposite! It's really good at cleaning my hair without drying it out or leaving any filmy coating on it.I rub the bar directly on my scalp in sections; moving my hair around to get the contact directly onto my scalp all over my head. Then I put the bar away, and massage my scalp to get the lather distributed all around my head. I do not work the lather to the ends of my hair, it stays up close to my scalp and just cleans the oils around my head.I love love love that I can use this and only apply it at my roots/scalp, which is better for my hair. With liquid shampoos, it's impossible to only apply it to the roots without it also getting in the top layer to the ends of my hair and making it more prone to damage. I don't have to worry about that anymore.I'm not terribly fond of the scent of the bar, but that's my personal preference, and once my hair is dry, it doesn't smell like the bar anyway, it just smells clean, so I don't mind.I like this product so much, I've decided to get a subscription because I am not going back to bottles ever again.And that's another thing, it frees up so much space in my shower because I don't have to worry about bottles balancing on the ledge anymore! Totally a win-win for me.
