Weather protection seems good. It looks like faux leather so I'm not entirely sure how long it will last but I think it will stay the same after compression. Suppose I need to keep track of the voltage my Plano 68qt is delivering. I was surprised to learn that the 17ft is actually two 8.6ft strands on a double reel. It doesn't really matter to me as I probably used 6ft, but using multiple seams can be difficult for other people making the door. But for my application it worked great! I had a hard time closing the Plano storage case, but found it easier to grab and squeeze the handle and hinges at the same time while pushing down on the lid to close the latch. The stickiness was excellent in my opinion. He wants to glue and whatever they used is good! It's definitely not the kind of stickiness you find with duct tape. I'm giving my application 4.8 stars (round up to 5 anyway because I think it's a solid product) just because I thought it was a tight strand and I had to manually separate the strands with a knife. If they had said something like 5/16 (x2) x1/4x8.6ft I would have given it a full 5 stars but the name is misleading to others. Again, works great with the Plano 68qt reservoir!
