Even with the instructions, I had to go back and forth with the mist and light sequence programming to get it all "right". (You press the same button for fog and light) But once I press the correct button sequence and the water enters the fog wand, it works great! The light is soft, not too bright, and the mist is light and gentle. I bought this for my teens with asthma and mouth breathing. They both noticed the difference and said they liked it. ONLY two small drawbacks: Firstly, the water tank is small and runs empty overnight. This can become a problem if my kids remember to turn it off before leaving the room for the day. Second, the cable is very short. We had to use an extension cord to an outlet that was only 3 feet away from us. Other than that, it's a cute, perfect little humidifier for those who want something small, quiet, and quiet.
