EDIT: I've just driven 5000 miles on this unit and highly recommend it. My monitor wasn't installed, it just sat on top of my console. The only problem was that some of the truck's environmental controls were blocked. This device allowed me to see right behind my trailer and prevented me from changing lanes without knowing what was in it, and also allowed me to make sure I completely passed someone before I ran them over. It worked great! Worth the low price. I needed a backup camera for my caravan, not just a backup camera. I was afraid of cheaper wireless systems due to lag and video loss at high speeds. I didn't want to pay close to $600 for a Furrion system for a 7 inch monitor, so I looked for a wired system. Cable routing and installation was more of a hassle than wireless, but a few hours of work saved me $500. I routed a cable inside my Ram as I entered the cab, through a cutout under the rear seats, and then under the carpet to my console. I had to disassemble it a bit to get it, but now most of the cable is inside the console, only the monitor cable and power cable come out. The lighter power connector has a switch that I use to turn the system on. Matching it to my RV was a bit easier. I didn't have a pre-installed Furrion mount so I bought one from a site known for their prices, shipping cost me about $16. Let the cable come out and then route the cable as unobtrusively as possible. This worked very well but the cord length was just long enough to reach my hitch and my RV has a 27ft box. A few little things that keep it from getting 5 stars, the image on the monitor is a little blurry, nothing like the photo in the ad. It's still good, just not as bright. Next are the screws that attach the camera to the mount - you can see it in my third photo. The slots on the bracket are for attaching screws and adjusting the camera. However, when it was installed on the Furrion shark fin and I rotated it into position, the slots did not line up with the screw holes. I used the center pivot hole for one of the screws and just pushed the other screw back into its hole without actually doing anything. I'm pretty sure this will work fine for my purposes. If not I will update.
