Review on AMD Processor Wraith Cooler YD1700BBAEBOX by Mateusz Sujak ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Quality of the product is at the level, I will recommend this product

Just as things need to be tried on for yourself, so the processor needs to be selected for specific tasks and programs. Of course, you can overpay for versatility if you have extra money. If you are doing 3D rendering, transcoding large amounts of video content, or using specific programs where Ryzen is strong, then this is the processor for you. In other cases, the price / performance of this processor is debatable and rather not in its favor. For gaming, the 7700K will be both cheaper and faster. I’ve been hearing talk about games being optimized someday and then you’ll feel all the power, I’ve been hearing for a dozen years now, and there’s no sign of serious progress in the industry, although there are enough processors with more than 4 cores and threads for a long time. Therefore, these conversations are about nothing. In my daily work tasks, I use these professional programs (in order of priority): 1. Adobe After Effects (2022) 2. Adobe Photoshop (2022) 3. Adobe Premiere (2022) 4 Lightroom (2022) 5. Adobe Illustrator (2022) These are quite professional and serious programs with multi-thread support. But just like the top line of Intel processors on the 2022-3 socket did not provide a serious price / performance advantage for these programs, the new Ryzen does not provide any serious advantages even at a much lower cost. In some of my programs it is slightly faster than 7700K, in others it is slower. But I personally am not ready to overpay for this advantage at least 30% of the price for a 10% increase in performance in a couple of programs, and given that somewhere else it is noticeably slower, this will definitely not be my choice. Therefore, carefully look at the processor tests in the programs in which you work. Consider what is more profitable in terms of price / performance for you personally. And not only the prices of the processor itself, but also the system as a whole.

Pros
  • An excellent processor for multi-threaded tasks such as 3D rendering or H264 conversion of large amounts of video. In terms of price / performance, it puts the entire Intel multi-core line on socket 2022 (2022-3) on the blades.
Cons
  • Once again I am convinced that multi-core processors are designed for highly specialized tasks. And although processors with 6-8-10 cores have been around for a long time, programs are progressing extremely slowly and practically do not reveal the capabilities of multi-core processors, with the exception of some.
