Review on πŸ–₯️ E-sds DisplayPort KVM Switch: Dual Monitor 4K DP KVM Switch with 2 Ports, 2 Extra USB Ports, and Audio/Mic Output by Ron Turner

Revainrating 4 out of 5

No documentation, constant beep when computer is in sleep mode, sound on one channel only

While I can get it to work as the primary KVM with a MacBook, there are some serious issues. First, the Switch emits its most shrill beep only when the two computers are switching, but also when the Athena computer's display signal is turned off to save power, and it does so at repetitive and random intervals (30-90 seconds), when the displays flicker. to switch on and off. So if your device is asleep and notifications wake it up briefly to show it (e.g. when you get new email), it will beep when it goes back to sleep. This means it will constantly beep when not in use, which will drive you crazy. You either have to turn off sleep notifications or put the display on power 24/7 - neither option is good. I've been looking for a solution to this problem as well as information for other features, but "documentation" is just a piece of paper. which literally has no instructions. It's just a list of specs, schematics, and a list of hotkey combinations they invoke, half of which have no explanation. For example, I have no idea what "Auto scan mode every 10 seconds" means. I haven't found anything on the web either. Of course, the list doesn't include hotkeys to toggle the dreaded beeping on and off. Another problem is that the sound only works via the left channel and then, after fiddling with the connections, it no longer works at all. Garbage.
