Review on 🌬️ Cooling Efficiency Boost with Mudder Aluminum Heatsink for Raspberry Pi by Mark Hanson

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Get the job done for my Pi cluster

These are decent heatsinks. I have a four pi cluster and this set fits the count perfectly. I would argue that the smaller heatsinks are not appropriate for the memory module, but they still work. By the way, the Raspberry Pi has the memory module on the bottom and not another big chip on top - it is designed for networking. Do not put small on the network chip. But if you keep it in mind, in most cases your Pi will not be able to match. I keep these devices outdoors for optimal cooling so they don't slow down their CPU. Once your CPU temperature reaches 85 degrees, the CPU will lower the frequency. See attached screenshot showing temperature and frequency of my cluster on each member device. Please note that frodo4 is an rPi 2, so the spec reduces its frequency to 900MHz per core. The other three are rPi 3 devices.

Pros
  • Suitable for Raspberry Pi board models A, B, B+, 2 and 3
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
