The screen works fine when all the packages are downloaded and prepared for it, but you really need to use the right distribution for it; Otherwise, you'll be stuck with a tiny screen and very poor touchscreen usability. Also, the packages for it CANNOT be removed after installation. I'm not exaggerating; You have to literally erase your SD/microSD card and start over to get rid of the screen installed packages. They change so many core files after installation that they cannot be removed without causing errors or simply crashing the Rasp Pi! And why do you want to delete them you ask? Especially because PiTFT+ blocks all HDMI functions from the Rasp Pi after installation, which means you cannot use a second screen or even see anything from the side EVEN if you physically remove the PiTFT+ screen from the Pi board! As far as I know the only way to regain this feature is to delete and reinstall the distro. This smacks of poor design and developers should be ashamed of making such an under-optimized product :( My advice: if you plan on using it, keep a spare distro on another SD/microSD card handy if you want to work on one big screen.
