I bought this unit based on a home technician's recommendation to save some money. Big mistake! This division lasted only about a year. I usually buy OEM even if they are more expensive so I found the BMW OEM latch on the popular Bimmer website. That's about double the price of this secondary unit, but the time and labor it takes to replace is worth the extra investment, not to mention the added reliability! Now, after many years of repairing and maintaining my family's cars, I only buy genuine parts. It's worth it!
