Excellent detailed description of OEM scanner with bi-directional control (drive control)

I've been looking for something more than just a universal OBDII code reader for a while. I bought a few wired devices and then switched to WiFi and Bluetooth wireless devices. I've had cheap ELM devices, blue drivers, and more. It far outperforms them all for such a reasonable price. This is the one to buy if you want to connect to 1996 and later cars. It even outperforms the Actrn 31403 scanner, which I paid about $500 for, block for miles, due to the readability of the manufacturer specific code and mostly the ability to have true bi-directional control. Running DPF Regen on 2013 Cummins, controlled door lock/unlock and ABS pump and EVAP system control on 2016 Honda CRV, this helped activate transmission solenoids on VW/Audi/Honda/Mazda, this can disable the / reactivate fuel pump as well as EVAP (Duty Cycle Control) purge control, single cylinder ignition off for a 2000 thru 2004 Nissan X with distributor (think about it, it doesn't have separate coil packs) and more. Customer service is also excellent, they helped me with any questions I had regarding the A30.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
