Bought this kettle after my old Breville started behaving erratically. I liked the idea of a vacuum insulated, double-walled, stainless steel kettle that didn't require complex electronics to keep the water warm. However, I only decide to return it 10 minutes after taking it out of the box. First, the kettle is too tall and its handle is poorly balanced, making it difficult to keep filling upright. Second, the designers made a very complicated and impractical lid to provide the claimed thermal insulation. The lid has to be completely removed to fill and then pushed inward in a specific orientation, which is mechanically quite difficult. With my other teapots, I never opened the filler cap, just poured through the spout; This teapot has a very small spout and is completely covered by the lid when the lid is closed. To pour boiling water, you need to press the button on the lid, which opens a narrow channel for water to flow out. It took forever to fill a cup with this too tall teapot! And the water didn't flow nicely, but splashed around. Good ideas, bad design. I hope that the manufacturer will release a better version.
