. I bought 4 of these in December for myself and family members. They worked for about 2 months. In mid-February, an iPad sometimes started not charging. It took me a while to realize that this particular cable was unreliable. It works intermittently to charge the new 11-inch iPad Pro. Sometimes when it's not working it keeps making that noise when plugged in. Just like it sounds like there's pocket lint in the iPhone's relief port and it can't get good enough contacts to charge it constantly. I still have some very nice, durable and expensive ropes!
