In the preface, this is the Xbox version connected to an Xbox Series X and my smartphone. I really wanted to like this headset because the connection to the application is really promising. It's just poorly implemented. Not sure if this shows as a verified review or not as I have already sent the headset back to Revain for a refund. I don't understand all the 5 star reviews unless I have a lemon. First it's a feeling in your head. It was like putting two thick plastic shells on your head, connected by a steel band. In this era of next-gen headsets, it felt inexcusably dated for 2010 and heavy for its size. I have a big head and it seemed to me that if I suddenly threw my head back or jerked it because I had to sneeze or something, it would fly away. I have a Logitech G935 headset on my PC and it's the same. That's the only thing I dislike most about the Logitech headset. It's just that the Logitech headset is a lot better too. The volume at Turtle Beach wasn't very loud. I had to crank the volume all the way up to feel comfortable. I literally couldn't crank the volume up to the point where it would be uncomfortable if I tried. I also have an app connected to it and it doesn't give you many extra features. All it did was give me a custom set of presets. There wasn't much variation in the settings. I wasn't expecting audiophile quality, only gaming quality. It was tolerable when it worked properly. However, when this did not happen. That was the real barrier. When teaming up with people in games, I could sometimes hear echoes of some people's voices and they would complain to me about the same issue on their side. We tried different things. I made sure no one accidentally transmitted sound from the speaker that their microphone could pick up. There were also sometimes weird pops. (By the way, there is no noise reduction either). My husband and I did some additional troubleshooting to ensure our testing wasn't infiltrated by external anomalies since we had two Xbox consoles in different parts of the house. The problem persisted, meaning it was firmware or bad hardware. I tried to solve the problem by updating the firmware from 1.7.3 to the current version 2.0.3 according to the instructions on the website. It did absolutely nothing to fix the problems. I submitted a support ticket to Turtlebeach stating that I needed a quick fix because I didn't have to fix an issue with a new expensive headset. It's been a few days with no response so I sent it back and ordered a Steelcase 900x and let me just say it's a lot better. For the record I explained in the TB ticket that I already updated the firmware and to what version and all the details. Today, a week later, I finally got a response from Turtlebeach customer service. He immediately told me to "update the firmware and come back to us if that doesn't solve the problem". That stupid asshole didn't even bother to read the damn service ticket. I'm so glad I sent him back and dodged that bullet. If you only experience minor quirks, consider yourself lucky. I still have to wonder how many people have these echo issues and don't know it because no one has complained to them about it. I experienced this on the first day of the raid and nobody said anything. That was until I found myself in the company of 3 people with close friends who knew what my previous headset sounded like (a Plantronics headset that sounded better than the Turtlebeach headset but kept dropping connection otherwise would have I keep it).
