This little booster works great as part of the Orbi system. The Orbi itself is a great mesh router. I compared Orbi to Google Mesh Router and found Orbi works better for me. Google froze and froze. Those were the early days and things could change. Surely Orbi was busy. Orbi recently updated its firmware, which improved things a bit. Previously, the main orbi had to be in the center, and all satellite accelerators were in range of the main router. Now each satellite can communicate with the next satellite instead of the hub. It can extend coverage over a significant distance, although I don't think it's designed to run full-area Wi-Fi. I don't know exactly what's stopping three satellites from broadcasting your data in a big circle and not out to the internet, but I guess someone thought of that and it still works really well. But back to business. in question - this booster. It's small and pleasing to look at. All you have to do is launch the app on your mobile phone to add a satellite. After a short flash, a blue ring appears. Then it goes out and you forget Orbi forever. Did. Just like this one. If your Orbi ever has a problem, the ring will light up again and turn orange or purple, but that's never happened to me. Other than that it's just a white brick in the wall and improved wifi is just what I wanted. This amp has only two disadvantages. First, it doesn't have an Ethernet jack. For this you need larger models. Secondly, this should give you less coverage of the larger Orbi satellites. I can't confirm - they seem about the same to me. But I take Orbi at his word. I think that's why this smaller module is a bit cheaper. In my case, I bought this item to replace one of the larger Orbi satellites because I needed to move the larger satellite to another location. As long as you keep these two caveats in mind, I don't think there are any real downsides to this device. Seems rock solid. The internet in the back bedroom is fine for what we needed. Fast enough to stream Netflix on a laptop or tablet. Ideal coverage for surfing the web or email. If you don't need an Ethernet jack and don't live in a huge mansion, this amp is a good addition to the Orbi range.
