First, this isn't a chip, it's a jumper connecting two wires that the jumper inserts into the controller. The second works on 48v cars. Basically if you have a connector on the wiring harness it plugs in and tells it to do something else. There are 4 options, no plug and three different plugs, giving you different speeds and regenerative braking. So if you have a Curtis 1264 SepEx controller with a 5 pin connector hanging off the wire harness connected to J1 on the 5 pin controller it will work. Seems faster, but it only gets you a few miles per hour at best.
