Review on Summer Infant Multi Use Walk Thru Bronze by Owen Houser

Almost perfect just needs some stretching

*So for those just wanting to know if this is a good buy and worth the money, yes. It is well constructed, looks very beautiful and is infinitely strong. For those who want a more detailed overview, here we go! In terms of appearance, the gate looks less like a child/dog gate and more like a tiny garden gate. We use it on our stairs so when we're gone, dogs can't find a fancy new potty spot or a new pair of underwear to scatter around. It's important to note that this gate has a door for a reason, it's not the traditional lightweight wood and white plastic children's gate, it's a STURDY thing. This is a very high quality metal that requires (fairly easy) installation. So this isn't something you want to buy if you intend to raise and lower the gate as it would be too bulky to do so. While we don't have to worry about little hands trying to open the gate door, I'm sure that's why many of you are interested in this product and I can tell you that it's really well designed for that function. It has three different child-locking mechanisms: first, you have to slide the tab at the top of the gate to open the door latch, and second, you have to lift the door itself for it to open at all. , and third, it's spring-loaded with quite a bit of spring force to close the door behind you. While I like the first two mechanisms because they were added in a way that doesn't add any visual dimension to the gate, the third one worries me. That's why he lost the star - as I said, he's got considerable power behind the spring, and this thing is going to strike. In the (albeit unlikely) event that any little fingers get in there, it's not going to end well, and as unlikely as it is with the first two precautions, problems like this just seem to haunt kids, so you might well take it into account. Overall this product gets 4 stars but I would definitely recommend it for its solid construction and how it fits into our home without looking like a cheap baby gate. The door's spring return is too strong for my comfort and slams loudly when you walk by unless you grab hold of it and close it behind you. That being said, I'm really glad we bought this as it's definitely the best in terms of features and design. *** Was my review helpful to you? Hopefully!
