I bought 4 of these drives based on reviews from 2 different vendors. 3 out of 4 failed within a week. Two came in sealed anti-static packaging from ETARATECH. Installed two from ETARATECH on two different laptops. I couldn't even install Windows on the first one, forcing me to run diagnostics that failed a surface test pretty quickly. The second was fine, but after I loaded Windows and all other software, it started to run very slowly. Then I got software errors. I tested it and this drive also failed diagnostics. The drives were manufactured on 04/08/2014 and 04/09/2014. The two drives that I ordered through ShouShi Trading arrived in a bubble envelope (no box) and WITHOUT anti-static packaging. For this reason I tested the drives immediately. One failed and the other passed. I have no idea the longevity of this leftover drive and if it fails quickly I will change my rating. Failed drive date: September 16, 2015 I have been repairing computers for a number of years and have had drives in the past that were DOA. I suspect that in some cases it was a bad production batch. I'm most frustrated because both of the laptops they were installed on had flat bottoms, so it took longer to install and remove each one. I guess I was hoping to get a good deal on some inexpensive hard drives to fix multiple computers. Manufacturing dates didn't matter to me as long as they were new discs. Now I'm not sure if they were new discs at all. ATTENTION TO THE BUYER.
