I use the DisplayPort input on one of my desktop monitors and a few different laptops. I looked at DisplayPort video switches but found them too expensive for this simple task. (Most of them appeared to be full KVMs, not just video switches. I also need 2560 x 1440 support at 60Hz.) Instead, I just plug this cable into a cable tray where I have three cables from different systems. I only connect the system I'm currently using it with.
