The size is deceptive. overall band size.
The size is misleading. The overall size of the strap is 59 inches including the ratchet groove spacing, this strap is not suitable for waists over 54 inches. I tried the buckle on my black yichaoyiliang men's ratchet leather dress, large (this belt came as advertised) and it worked well. The ratchet release is a little tight and difficult to manipulate, but that may be due to the novelty of the buckle.
