Review on πŸ”’ Enhance Comfort and Convenience with Westinghouse Lighting 7787000 Ceiling Fan and Light Remote Control in White by Julio Diaz

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Happy with this remote control, but.

I just installed this remote on a new Westinghouse Oasis fan and it works great. (Another reviewer said it doesn't fit the Oasis fan, and while it fits well, it does work with the Oasis fan, I assure you.) Here's what I liked (and disliked) about this remote. :PROS: - Once installed, works exactly as advertised - Long range (I tried it from 50ft from another room and through a wall with windows and a glass door and was able to control the fan with ease) - Allows remote control of your places turn the fan on low, medium or high (and dim or turn up the lights) - all at the touch of a button - Comes with everything you need to install VS: - There is a sensor/receiver unit, the one shown in the photo not shown that must be installed in the fan housing. This sensor is quite large and for this reason difficult to install. However, I looked at other remote brands and it's about the same size as the others. But I don't know why these manufacturers couldn't make this part smaller to make it easier to install. The manufacturer says this remote is "easy to install" and "requires no hardwiring". I think that's a bit misleading. While the installation wasn't too difficult, you'll need at least some basic fan installation and electrical knowledge to do this. And it requires you to hardwire the sensor/receiver box between the power line going to the fan and the fan wiring itself. So I'm not sure why they say NO hardwiring is required. Result. If you don't know anything about installing a fan, you may have trouble installing it. But if you can fit a fan, you shouldn't have any trouble connecting this remote. It's a minor thing, but the numbered buttons on the fan remote work like this: 1=high, 2=medium, 3=low, 0=off. Another reviewer stated that he thought it should be the other way around (i.e. 1=low, 2=medium, 3=high, 0=off), and I agree. But that is not so important and you can get used to it. Overall I'm happy with this remote now that it's installed and I think you will be too.
