Good quality, lots of features, software needs updating

In terms of build quality, this is a good little bi-directional scanner. Case made of hard-wearing plastic with a comfortable carrying handle and shockproof rubber edging. The cable is nice and long, thick-walled and firmly connected to the device. The screen is nice and bright, with excellent contrast and is very responsive to touch. It looks like it will unfortunately be based on a very locked down version of Android. not very well designed. It has many spelling mistakes and unclear translations. The menu is confusing and the included manual is no help. It lists its features in terms not commonly used in the automotive field, at least in the US, but does not tell you how to access or use those features. I went to the website to see if they offer a detailed manual to download but there doesn't seem to be any support or mention of this model. After turning it on and logging into Wi-Fi, it updated the software and was ready to use. , I stumbled through the menu and was able to figure out where to access the DTC, it scanned and actually found a stored code that I was unaware of in my Honda. I was able to access the data log and everything seemed to be working fine, it found all my sensors were fine, it took an unreasonably long time the first time, but I suspect it was because updates were being installed at the same time . because each additional time worked very quickly. The main downside is the software store. The listing notes that only 2 features are free and the others must be purchased. I didn't realize (maybe I didn't read clearly or maybe due to bad wording) that ALL bi-directional features for the first time two require an additional subscription. I understand this is common with high-end professional scanners, but this isn't a professional scanner, in fact it's about as useful as an ELM327 device without a software subscription. Despite my concerns, overall I like this scanner. after some digging i was able to figure out the basic features and having left the industry i no longer have access to professional scanners so i will install the first 2 software modules as needed and update this review. Most of the issues I've encountered can be and I expect to be fixed in future firmware updates. The software subscription service is unfortunate, but I understand this is industry standard practice. and that cannot be avoided.
