Easy to use, but not really gold colored

I ought this to use in my first attempt at kintsugi, pottery mending. First is why I liked it. It was very fine, and it mixed very well with both 2part epoxy glue and Elmer’s white glue. I had never mixed mica with glue before and had no problems. I didn’t have to use much to get a solid color, this package would last for quite awhile. However, the color, as mentioned in some other reviews, was the issue. It was not the gold that I was hoping for. I have attached 2 pictures. The first is the use on a chipped gilded plate. You can see the contrast in color with the gilt, which is a traditional gold color. This batch I mixed the product with Elmer’s white glue. The second picture turn is where I mixed it with 2 part epoxy, and used it on unglazed stoneware. I put a 14k gold earring next to it so you can see the color contrast. There is still a difference, but it is much less orange, more like 22k gold. ( This is obviously my first try at kintsugi, it’s not the products fault that I let it bleed out of the crack.).The bottom line is that it is not the color I expected. The gold color does vary with what you mix it with, IF you mix it with something. But other than the color, I thought it worked great and was a very good value. I will keep using it to learn. And I believe there are other gold colors offered, although they are more expensive.I wasn’t quite sure how to rate it, it depends on what you want it for. Colors are hard, displays differ, but hopefully the earring will help show the contrast.
