Precise rotation and easier leveling for tripod head
I bought this horizontal panorama plate to use with a Wimberley WH-200 gimbal head for two functions: (1) protractor; and (2) an easier way to level the camera than adjusting the length of the tripod legs. That works great. Adjustment is smooth for both level and rotation, and very solid when locked.
