. I have to buck the trend because I love this printer. First off, this wasn't your home office rolled into one. This should be used in a corporate environment as a network photo printer for a floor or a small workgroup. I have 2 other Canon printers, TR and TS. This ib4120 outperforms these two printers in print quality. It can spit out a 20-page document before either one makes all those mysterious noises when you first press the power button. PLUS the ammo in this thing is HUGE. They last at least 4 times longer than those little "tanks". I have two Pro-100, the TR series and the TS series. I'm not kidding when I say this 4120 is my favorite. I connected it to my router with a network cable - I didn't bother with WiFi and had no problems. It's a pain that you can't change cartridges unless the printer tells you to. But there's a way around this: you unplug the printer while it's printing, and then you can swap cartridges. In summary, I love this printer because: 500 sheet paper trays - improved paper handling, 2 separate trays, I put plain paper in one and my photo paper in the other, is very fast in standard mode. as slow as other canon printers in high quality mode cartridges last forever and 1 day print quality is almost as good as my pro-100 with 8 ink tanks. The black color is amazing - true black, not dark grey. The LCD display is bad. Seriously, I can't believe how bad this is. It's a tiny two-line black and white LCD. You have to read it to work with the printer, but the writing is so small I have to use a magnifying glass to see it and it's not backlit so I have to use a flashlight to close the LCD light up because it's so dark I can't see it at all. The printer isn't perfect, but it's only $100, so keep a flashlight near the printer. I print a lot of high-resolution graphics. This printer has the best print quality on plain paper. Added the following on 11/19/2020: I currently have three of these printers and will be purchasing a fourth to have one on hand. All the reviews you read here are awful - and that's exactly how Canon wanted it. See, they sell this printer as a business printer. So the ink is part of the cost as Canon assumes it will be used in large offices. So if your average home user bought this printer, the cartridges that came with the printer would probably last a year or two. The ink cartridges for this printer are about 10 times larger than the home multifunction devices that Canon sells, so Canon intentionally makes this printer to be inconvenient for the home user. For an IT professional, it's easy. If you know how to log into your router and establish a WPS connection with this printer, it will work flawlessly the first time and every time. I have 2 Canon PRO-100 professional photo printers that are rarely used now. This $129 printer has the best print resolution!
