Review on BRASS TACKS Leathercraft Vintage Genuine by Jacob Ashman

Not suitable for those who primarily carry cash

This vintage style genuine leather wallet with front pocket from BRASS TACKS LEATHERCRAFT has multiple card slots but is not suitable for those who primarily carry cash. Zippered coin pocket. The bag has 4 card slots on each side. Additionally there is a flap with 3 more card slots on one side and an ID card slot on the other side. The valve is closed with a tongue with a metal latch. It has an RFID blocking lining, but I haven't tested it to see how well it works. The only place to keep cash is in the zip pocket - there is no bill compartment. This is more for people who primarily use credit cards. The wallet is thin but gets much thicker when you load it with credit cards. I would be concerned about using this in my back pocket if loaded with maps as they will bend and potentially tear when seated. But a few cards should do the trick. It is made of "crazy horse skin". It is NOT made of horse leather. Instead, it is the name given to the wax treatment of cowhide. It shows natural grain and scratches, but most scratches will disappear with rubbing. It's quite soft and thin because it's not real leather. The seams are clean and well finished. We're a generally cash-working family and only use credit cards for large purchases, so we don't usually carry more than a card and ID with us, so it's not the best wallet for anyone in my family. However, it would be nice for travel if we mainly use maps.
