My first set of sharpeners so there is nothing like it. However, $50 is a great price to jump into the world of sharpening. The stones are great and easy to work with. Managed to put razor blades on knives. It took me a few knives to get used to the process and sharpening and get better, but the stones you get work great. That is the secret. Take the green leather stop block. As great as the stone is, I've found that planing the knife after the fact really brings out the razor blade. And after using the knife, touching it again will restore and maintain the sharpness of the razor. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
