What I like: - Fast. About 40 seconds in each ear. - Not very dirty. Removing the skin into a rectangular casserole dish helps control juice splatter. - Simple controls. The device is small and easy to use. - The edge is pretty sharp. Did I say fast? What I don't like: - Danger of cuts. The hand holding the corn (back) should be protected with a glove or rag to avoid contact with the blade at the end of its stroke. Unknowingly, I cut my thumb on the first hit of the first use. The blade is VERY sharp. Conclusion: I like this little tool. Peeling off the scrub took much longer than treating ten ears. Much faster than with a sharp knife. Even with pieces of shell, as is the case with a knife, I had no problems. I'd also recommend storing (if going into the drawer) in a sandwich plastic bag to avoid the risk of cuts in the future when you're digging around looking for something (different). Otherwise, this little tool is the keeper.
