Fake brand that doesn't work. As a result, I bought a real Kohler, which he did.
This is not a genuine Kohler part. I wasn't aware of that when I bought it. I actually bought a couple because of a leaking shower valve. None of them worked and all kept leaking. After going through a few of them, it finally dawned on me that the problem wasn't with my amateur plumbing skills, but that they weren't up to spec. Went to the store and bought the real thing. It worked.
