Buy Something Better

I purchased these and used them to cut tongue and groove joints into 8 3 foot pieces of wood. I will no longer use them. I've noticed a few reviews mentioning curved shafts. The possibility of this was clearly stated in the Revain advertisement, as well as the need to clamp the collet close to the cutting tools to avoid this. Anyone who has reported this as a dangerous issue clearly has not followed the safety advice in the description. Although the beat is clearly to blame. The problem with these instructions is that these bits have 3" shanks and I've never seen a router with a collet half that deep (other than a CNC spindle). So the first thing I had to do was take both cutting edges on my grinding wheel and remove half the length of the shank. The shafts were shortened, then I cut my pieces of wood. Stupid mistake on my part, but I didn't double check that the pieces each match a friend before getting everything right. Since the grooves turned out to be much wider than the width of the tongue, gluing them is not worth it. have become blunt or become blunt quickly. One of the cutting edges of the tongue cutter has a small chip at one corner. Summer Union with spikes and grooves, at least it works as it should.
