Staedtler Mars Lumograph VS Tombow Mono

I love both Thombow Mono and Mars Lumograph, you can't go wrong with either set. I used medium-weight 70-pound drawing paper for testing. 3H, 2H, H, HB, FB, 2B, 3B, 4B, 5B, 6B Tombow Mono come in a plastic case with 12 unsharpened pencils, an eraser and a small Mars Lumograph sharpener, some with 12 pre-sharpened pencils in a beautiful Tombow Mono -Metal tin case with hexagonal body, slightly larger than Mars LumogrphMono has pencil grade marked on 4 of 8 sides, Mars Lumograph is marked on all 8 mono grades, gold marked over white, Mars is easier to see, quickly marked white over black, both have a good barrel finish, both sharpen well, although Mono has slightly rougher wood after sharpening with the included hand sharpener. On paper, both sets feel the same. very smooth with softer notes up to 2H, 3H and 4H started to feel a bit scratchy on paper as expected for the hardness. Both sets are mixed in the same way, in general both sets are comparable to each other. it really depends on what you want in the set. The Tombow Mono is a bit cheaper, but you also get an eraser and a sharpener. Mars Lumograph comes with a nice metal can for a few bucks more. Because of the beautiful metal can, I keep the Mars Lumograph on my desk and use it at home. I keep a Tombow mono set of charcoal pencils in my Derwent holdall for drawing on the go.

Why did they come in a bag and not the tin box?
