Ever since I bought the PS Vita (US/North America) version of the PCH-2001, I've been eyeing this Aqua version of the PCH-2000 (Japan) like a hawk. The last two digits after each PS Vita number are the region code; For example, PCH-2001 is US code 01, PCH-2000 is Japanese code 00, etc. I see some reviewers who have PCH-2006 and few of these consumers know that the product they received from some of these sellers , Asia 06 is. Code version for Hong Kong/Korea. I don't have a problem with any of the PS Vita versions, but I like to get what I actually paid for, and in this case I really wanted a Japanese celadon. You can also say that this is the Japanese version during your first initial setup of the device, Tokyo will be used by default. I took a chance and bought from a cus-mart seller with FBA (operated by Revain) with same day shipping. Everything arrived on time, the goods came in a BRAND NEW SEALED packaging. PS Vitas are still made in Japan and don't actually have clear seals. The seller I bought from added them as extra security and I am very grateful. All PS Vitas are region independent so I can enjoy all my new physical and digital games on this device. This device only has 1GB of onboard storage so I bought 64GB from the same seller and they did not disappoint. I am very happy with my new PS Vita, it is an absolute beauty! It's hard to describe how amazing the color of this device is as I've noticed that it looks either darker or lighter in different lighting. The entire body, with the exception of the touchpad on the back, is completely matte, so there are no fingerprints on it - yes! The functions of the X and O buttons are swapped in the Japanese versions and can easily be changed in the Accessibility menu in Settings. I recommend just leaving X and O as default as they will only be flipped on the LiveArea screen. Once a US/North American game is launched, the default is what western players are used to: X=confirm, O=cancel/return. You can also sign into any PSN region you have, but note that only one account on the PS Vita is Sony's fault. If you have multiple proprietary PS Vita memory cards, you can install each memory stick with a different PSN, again, Sony is to blame. Otherwise, this PCH-2000 version works the same as the USA/NA PCH-2001 version. For the curious, my version of the model came with firmware 3.65.
