After 30 years of using the SM58 microphones it's time to try something different. The Sennheiser microphone received high ratings. After receiving it and using it in concert I was amazed at the improved gain, clarity and tone it had over the SM58. However, at higher gains, subtle "pops" would occur when singing certain "P" and "B" words. But it was very forgiving and I only made some adjustments in how I "tuned" the mic (EQ and volume settings on the mixer) and how I "signaled" the mic (position and proximity of the mic to the mouth ). Once that was figured out, the mic sounded even more amazing! I highly recommend it. It has excellent frequency response, gain, clarity, is well built and feels comfortable in the hand, and has an even gain pattern across the mic. In addition, it is a very attractive microphone with a satin black body and a metal blue windscreen. All for less than $200. In my opinion, you can't go wrong with the Sennheiser e935.
