I have struggled with an ankle injury for many years and this is still my favorite brace after trying many different types. My first shock doctor is finally showing some wear after 4 years of fairly constant use, so I'm happy with the durability on offer here. It doesn't have the same issues with other curly braces of the same style. The heel cut goes far enough under the foot that you don't feel the seam on the heel. Likewise, the leading edge of the part of the stirrup under the foot does not extend far enough forward that you can feel it from the front. Other suspenders I've tried are too long underfoot and can bunch up - this one fits perfectly. Traction underfoot as well as on X tires is a nice touch. The heel cut is also cut high enough and uses a good amount of elastic where it rests on the Achilles tendon so it doesn't rub/pinch like other braces. If you are used to wearing braces every day, they are comfortable enough to break in, especially after a few weeks of wearing them.
