Thin (1/2 inch) and curved when I first used them.
I bought these to hold a SUPER light raincoat and they basically flexed and flexed the first and only time I used them... There was no load and it was really drizzling only. I simply attached them with the lightweight lines that came with the rain cover. You can't really see that they are only 1/2 inch in diameter. I thought they were twice the size!
